A first UK edition hardback (first published by Penguin the previous year in paperback). Bumped at head of book spine. The dust jacket is complete and still shows the price but is showing some slight signs of wear to the extremities and is a little yellow rather than white. Some minor creasing at the top of the jacket spine to match the bump.

This is a paperback edition – undated but the copyright date is 1965. The light tan (card) covers are very grubby and are foxed. The insides of the covers are tanned. Crease across the top tight hand corner of the front cover which carries through to the front end paper to page 7 though it gets more and more faint as it works towards page 7.
