Comments & Further Information

This is a UK mass market paperback edition from 1966 (the title was first published in 1965) published by Four Square in the UK.

The covers which are generally grubby, are showing signs of wear to the extremities; chips to head and tail of spine and along the spine itself and rubbing to edges.   (The photo makes the white on the front cover look much brighter than it actually is).   Creasing across the bottom right-hand corner of the front cover and some minor damage at the top edge.  Creases to top left-hand corner of rear cover and a vertical crease close to the spine.  The pages are heavily tanned making then rather brown but still eminently readable.

SYNOPSIS:  “SHOULD ARTISTS COPY LIFE?  Given a gorgeous nude like Angie, what could be better?  Harold Loomis copied her curves onto canvas with the unsparing accuracy of a camera – except for one detail.  He always painted her dead.  Dead by strangling.  Dead by shooting.  Dead by hacking.  To Loomis, the most important thing in life was – death!

So this artist copied death.  So this artist was wacky.  A weirdy.  But harmless enough, it seemed…  Until the naked model turned everything upside down by turning up dead – a perfect copy of the painting she’d been posing for complete to the last ugly knife in her beautiful body.”
