A first US edition paperback with a stated first printing August 1969. Ballantine Books 01680.
Age tanning to pages. The book covers have been encased in a plastic cover at some time in their life and this has left an indentation on the first couple of pages and tape marks on the first and last pages of the book. This plastic sleeve has also resulted in some discolouration to the inside of the front and back covers following removal.
The covers are showing some slight signs of wear to the extremities; crease across the bottom right-hand corner of front cover and reading creases to spine.

In the circumstances he was glad to accept the advice of Sam, his friendly guru, who introduced Jud to the Time Service, Sam himself being a part Time Serviceman…”
