Comments & Further Information

A  first US edition hardback with a full 1 to 10 number sequence indicating a first printing and a stated First US Edition.  Bumped at head and tail of book spine.  Age tanning to pages and some minor foxing to the top edge of the pages. There is a small red spot on the top edge of the pages near to the book spine as a remainder mark.  The dust jacket is complete and still shows the price but is showing signs of wear to the extremities.

A Sgt Bragg and Constable Morton mystery.

SYNOPSYS:  “Sergeant Bragg and Constable Morton find themselves embroiled in a case with far-reaching political and social repercussions when they are sent to investigate the murder of the biggest opium dealer in the East.  Just days later they hear of the suspicious death of one of the members of the Royal Commission on opium, who just happened to have died from ingesting the same mysterious poison that instantly killed their victim.

The connections seem to be clear except for one: who had reason to kill both men and will he be trying again?”
