This is a UK edition hardback published in 1949 and states that the book was produced in complete confirmity with the authorised economy standards. The title was first published in 1948. It lacks a dust jacket. Bumped at head and tail of book spine. Spine slanted. The boards are very grubby and there is some staining on both boards. Internally the pages are tanned with some foxing to the page edges and the occasional page face. At some point the front pastedown and front end paper have been covered over with a piece of paper to hide a previous owner’s address and other writing. The rear pastedown has has something stuck to it at some point and its removal has caused some damage to the pastedown. The camera flash makes the boards appear cleaner and brighter than they actually are.
