Comments & Further Information

A First UK edition hardback in very good condition for its age.  Its only vice is heavy age tanning to pages making them rather brown, but still eminently readable.  Titles to spine are still very bright.   The dust jacket is complete and still shows the price.

A haunting fable of deception and betrayal set in the London of 1940.

SYNOPSIS:  “It was pure chance – or so it seemed – that brought Henry Morgan face to face with the sixteen-year-old Jewish refugee, Antonin, in a blacked-out London basement. Morgan had been instrumental in getting Antonin and his uncle out of Czechoslovakia before the war. Now the uncle has disappeared and Morgan’s enquiries tangle with devious English officialdom.”
