Comments & Further Information

A first UK edition hardback in very good condition for its age.  Heavy age tanning to pages making them rather brown but still eminently readable   Previous owner’s name deleted on front paste-down – not seen under dust jacket flap. The dust jacket is complete, still shows the price and is showing some signs of wear to the extremities.

SYNOPSIS:  “Adolph Ng, an effete, Canadian-educated hotel owner of Chinese origin, leads a placid existence on Danu, the eastern half of an island to the north of Australia. He and his companions meet in the cafes and bars to trade salacious gossip and forge the policies of FAKOUM, the government of their newly-independent homeland, with equal vigor. Their lives are dramatically altered by the invasion of Danu by the malais, their powerful expansionist neighbours.”
