Comments & Further Information

A first UK edition hardback in very good condition for its age.  Bump to head of book spine. Some tanning to pages and foxing to edges of pages not affecting the page faces.  The dust jacket is complete but is price-clipped and showing signs of wear to extremities.  Small tear at the bottom of the rear panel which has been repaired.

SYNOPSIS:  “The Operators is a study-in-depth of three people.  The criminal Mo, a born professional.  The other two are mugs – to Mo anyone who is not a criminal is a mug. Tracey, a well-educated daughter of an army officer, but weak, gullible and incapable of holding down a job; and Nevil, a charmer, equally unfitted for steady work.  Mo has worked out an ‘operation’ which is to bring him safely and salvation and as partners he selects Tracey and Nevil, the reckless and feckless ones.

But there is a world of difference between the mug and the professional and the operation is to work our very differently from Mo’s fevered prison-cot imaginings…”
