First UK edition with a full 1 to 10 number sequence indicating a first printing. Bump at head and tail of book spine. The text block looks as though it has been printed from two different types of paper as there is a small section in the middle of the block (about 1 cm) that is darker than the text block on either side of it. The dust jacket is complete, still shows the price, but is showing some signs of wear at the extremities.
SYNOPSIS: “Bill Wyeth is a successful attorney in his late thirties with a beautiful wife and son, who, by the merest chance, loses everything: family, job, status. Wyeth drifts towards the city’s shadiest corners, where restoration seems unlikely, redemption impossible.”
