SYNOPSIS: “Colonel Gayton was a hospitable man and it was his pleasure to fill his home, Framby Hall, with guests for a summer house party each year. This particular July had found a number of the Colonel’s family and friends at the Hall, and, as it is so often the case when a great many relatives are gathered together, certain family feuds were making themselves felt.
Ursula Gayton, the Colonel’s daughter-in-law, made no secret of the fact that she thoroughly disliked Yvonne Bardwell who had quire recently jilted Ursula’s cousin. Yvonne seemed unperturbed by this disapproval, however, and continued to play the part of a rich, spoilt, but undoubtedly pretty young girl, until the morning when Owen Ramsgill burst in on the rest of the party with the news that he had found Yvonne drowned in the swimming pool. ”
