This is a UK reprint from 1974 (the title was previously published by Penguin in paperback 1968 and by Jonathan Cape in hardback in 1965).
Heavy age tanning to pages making them rather brown but still eminently readable. Some lighter tanning to inside of covers. The covers are showing some signs of wear to the extremities and are rubbed along the edges. There is some damage to the front cover (see photo) perhaps where a sticker has been removed? Also some minor damage to the bottom of the rear cover. There are many chips to the spine and a small crease at the top right-hand corner of the front cover.
SYNOPSIS: “Rain is a thing of the past. Radio-active waste has stopped the sea evaporating.
The sun beats down on the parching earth, and on the parching spirit of man. A warped new mankind is bred out of the dead land – bitter, murderous, its values turned upside down.
Idiots reign. Water replaces currency and becomes the source of a bleak new evil… If it ever happened, it could be very like this…”
