Comments & Further Information

A US edition hardback published by The World Publishing Company in 1946 with a stated First Printing February 1946.  Bumped at head and tail of book spine and a little rubbed at edge of spine and at bottom of spine.  There is significant age tanning to the pages making them very brown, but the book remains eminently readable.

There is a quarter-inch square piece of the dust jacket missing from the tail of the dust jacket and a narrow 4mm to 5mm strip missing from the top of the dust jacket spine and there are three small internal repairs. The dust jacket is otherwise complete.  It is rubbed at the edges and also down the jacket spine, and is generally rather grubby.

SYNOPSIS:  “An exotic movie actress; a scented chimpanzee; a murder which, already precious, became a managing editor’s dream; Pink, who came from Flatbush, Brooklyn; Sol Spaeth, who was spawned in New York… These are only some slight hints of what you will find in The Devil to Pay!”
