A first UK edition hardback in very good condition for its age. Heavy age tanning to pages making them rather brown but still eminently readable. Minor bump to base of book spine. The dust jacket is complete and still shows the price, but is showing signs of wear. There is some creasing to the rear panel and there are two small internal repairs.
SYNOPSIS: “A collection of short, sharp satirical pieces that illuminate the reality of martial law in Poland as no analytical article ever could. Chilling and disturbing, it represents one of the most moving documents to emerge from Eastern Europe in recent times, an inside view of a tragedy the West has observed with mounting horror.”
