First UK edition hardback in very good condition for its age. Tanning to pages. Some staining to page edges with only minimal discolouration of page faces. Light rubbing at top and bottom of book spine. The dust jacket is complete, still shows the price, but is showing some signs of wear with a couple of minor chips to the edges.
SYNOPSIS: “Derek Franklin, steeplechase jockey, has problems enough of his own. At thirty-four he’s coming towards the end of his career, and a serious disagreement with the last fence at Cheltenham has left him on crutches with a crushed ankle. But the death of his much older – but still much loved – brother Grenville lands him in even deeper trouble.”
