Comments & Further Information

A first UK edition hardback in very good condition for its age.  Heavy age tanning to pages making them rather brown but still eminently readable.  Minor bump to head and tail of book spine.  Slight spine slant.  Titles to spine remain clean and bright.   The dust jacket is price-clipped and is showing some slight signs of wear to the extremities.

A Dan Mallett novel of suspense.

SYNOPSIS:  “The night that Dan is snaring pheasants in the pitch-dark woods, Major March’s gamekeeper is shot dead with an arrow. Dan knows he will be assumed guilty by half the village and both local detectives so he has to find the murderer but first he must disappear.”
