Comments & Further Information

First edition with a full 1 to 10 number sequence indicating a first printing.  In good condition for its age.  Tanning to pages making them very brown, but the book remains eminently readable.  Small, faint stain at the bottom right hand corner of the first 20 pages, not affecting text.  Bumped at head and tail of book spine.  The dust jacket is complete, still shows the price but is showing some signs of wear along the bottom and top edges.

SYNOPSIS  “Doomed to a life in a wheelchair, having lost both legs and the use of an arm in Vietnam, Lewis Kindred  lives for the game of poker.  His young friend, Josh, is like a brother to him and Lewis encourages his ambition to become a writer.

Into their lives comes a beautiful woman bearing a gift – a palm-sized globe of bright red crystal.  Lewis had seen a ball like this before – in Vietnam, where it brought incredible luck at cards to its owner and sickening violence to those around him.”
