This is a First Printing of this edition. (The original First Edition of this title was published by William Heinemann 1n 1953.) Minor bump to head of book spine. Age tanning to pages making them rather brown but still eminently readable. The dust jacket is complete, still shows the price but is showing some signs of wear to the extremities.
Edith Pargeter is perhaps better known as Ellis Peters.
SYNOPSIS: “When Suspiria Freeland is charged with poisoning her artist husband Theo, a scandalised country presumes her guilt. What could one expect of a woman like that, with her clever tongue and abrupt manners, those odd-shaped pots she calls art and her ramshackled house – a woman who brazenly admits her affair with a garage mechanic fourteen years her junior?”
