A first UK edition (small sized) hardback in nice condition for its age. Age tanning to pages. Minor bump to head and tail of book spine. The dust jacket is complete, still shows the price but is showing some signs of wear at the extremities. Rear panel somewhat grubby. This is NOT an ex-library book.
SYNOPSIS: “A wet night and a woman walking in the rain. The woman crosses the road to her car and another car skids towards her. A yell and a nasty bang. Instead of stopping, the car keeps going and when I reach the woman she is dead. It happens all the time.
Add some copy with suspicious minds, a dame with a notion that I might be the answer to her prayers. Throw in a bunch of hoods who have a yen to file me away in a cold morgue drawer, and brother, you’ve got yourself a brew!”
