This book club edition is in  good condition for its age. Bumped at head and tail of the book spine. Previous owner’s name and the date September 64 neatly written on the inside of the front board. Age tanning to pages. The dust jacket is complete but is showing signs of wear.  The rear panel is very grubby. Small stain on inside of dust jacket not visible externally.

SYNOPSIS: “Madame Castel’s lodger is the dashing Confederate General P G T Beauregard, hero of the American Civil War. Historians have described him as ‘Napoleon in Grey’; his devoted soldiers called him ‘Old Bory’. His story is an intensely dramatic one.”
