Comments & Further Information

A first US edition hardback with a stated First edition and a 1 to 10 number sequence indicating a first printing.  The book is in good condition for its age but generally grubby.  Bumped at head and tail of book spine.  The top and leading edges of the book are grubby and there is some tanning to pages.  The dust jacket is complete and still shows the price, but is showing signs of wear.  Creasing on the spine to correspond with the bumps and also on the front panel along the spine.  Sunned across the top of the flaps and also along the inside of the jacket.  Indentation in rear panel of jacket.

SYNOPSIS:  “Mark and Maddie Harvey hardly had a fairy tale marriage.  Maddie’s shrewish temperament and blatant infidelities were enough to drive any man to the edge – but still, Mark had never intended to kill her.

Now, left with an inconvenient corpse on his hands, Mark is faced with a dilemma, and his quiet life as an ordinary banker and member of the Civil War Re-enacement Society is quickly thrown into turmoil.  With no way to explain the body, Mark decided he must try to keep Maddie alive – at least in the eyes of the world, which includes her lover, her feminist friends, a manic-depressive lodger, and an admiring neighbor.  But how long can one person be expected to hold a marriage together?”
