Comments & Further Information

A first UK edition hardback in very good condition for its age.   This slim volume is bumped at head and tail of book spine.  Tanning to pages.  Titles to spine remain bright.  The dust jacket is complete, still shows the price, but is showing signs of wear to the extremities.

SYNOPSIS:  “Set in wartime , this is the story of a young seaman deserting after being blown up and injured at sea comes to London, where he drifts about on the fringes of Soho’s underworld, in innocence rather than intention.  Gradually, he becomes sickened by it all, by the odd jobs and the odd women, and he goes to Scotland  and in coming to terms with his ghosts he seeks his true self.”
