A first UK edition hardback in very good+ condition for its age. A minor bump to the foot of the book spine and age tanning to pages making them quite brown but still eminently readable. The dust jacket is complete and still shows the price.
SYNOPSIS: “Life isn’t easy when you should have died. Tommy Hart, whose B-25 was shot down over Germany, is burdened with guilt that he is the only surviving member of his crew. He is just another PoW at Stalag Luft 13 waiting for the war to end. But the tedium of the camp comes to a halt with the arrival of a new prisoner, Flight Lieutenant Lincoln Scott, a black pilot who instantly becomes the target of contempt from his fellow prisoner. When a prisoner is brutally murdered, all the evidence points to the killer being Scott, and Hart is ‘volunteered’ to defend him…”
