A Detective Inspector Littlejohn mystery.

SYNOPSIS:  “The last ferry from Elmer’s Creek to Falbright across the River Hore, the Falbright Jenny, suddenly takes the bit between her teeth, runs out towards the sea and ends up with her nose in the air on a sandbank.  The pilot is missing from her bridge and is later found under Falbright pier with a stab in his back.

DI Littlejohn and Sergeant Cromwell find the case a hard one right from the start, for the seedy  gentry and their village tenants across the river all hang together and tell as many lies as suit them.”
