This is an undated book club edition but is circa 1951. Bumped at head and tail of book spine and at the corner of each board. Heavy age tanning to pages making them very brown but still eminently readable. Previous owner’s name (see photo) nearly written on ffep. There is a small hole on the half title page (see photo). The dust jacket has had a hard life, is rather fragile and the rear panel is grubby. There is a large chunk missing from the spine and some smaller pieces missing at the top of the spine. It has also been torn quite badly in two places on the front panel and has been rather crudely repaired at some time in its life. Generally rubbed at edges. Some foxing internally. The flash on the photo is making the book appear less grubby than it actually is.
This title is also known as Dead March for Penelope.
SYNOPSIS “Following the death of Mr William Blow, his surviving relatives find themselves tangled up in family secrets and financial mystery.
So when Miss Penelope Blow suddenly dies by falling out her bedroom window, suspicions are raised and with Scotland Yard under pressure to determine if her fall was really accidental, Inspector Littlejohn is called in to get to the bottom of the case.”
