A UK paperback edition published in this edition by Coronet (Hodder & Stoughton) in 1980. (Previously published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1975). The book is in very good condition for its age. The pages are quite heavily tanned but the book remains eminently readable. The covers are showing signs of wear to the extremities and there is quite a lot of creasing to the edges of the covers and down the front cover adjacent to the spine.
SYNOPSIS: “How are the brothers of the Crispinite Order (founded 1777 and now situated in New York’s posh Park Avenue) going to thwart the greedy real estate developers who threaten to demolish their monastic haven?
This is the dilemma facing Brother Benedict and his fifteen fellow monks. Collectively determined to retain their habitat, the brothers take action. Especially brother Benedict, who falls in love with the landlord’s daughter and finds himself embroiled in a battle to save his celibate tranquillity as well as his beloved monastery.”
