A First UK edition paperback in generally very good condition for its age. However, there is a single, very faint crease down the rear cover and there is quite dark age tanning to the pages but the book remains eminently readable. Appears to be unread.
SYNOPSIS: “Slaughter City: Chicago, 1999…
The big market used to be in livestock. Now it’s human body parts. You can mortgage your own body to an organ-transplant company – but you have to pay off if you can’t pay up. Unless you can get some dumb-ass private eye to look after you.
Gregory Blake’s first mistake is to take on a client whose body is marked for foreclosure. His second is to try to find out why the most powerful forces in the town are in such a hurry to lay Jonathan Scott’s organs out in the deli-counter window. Blake thinks he knows all there is to know about the underworld: he’s about to find out what Real Power is in this savage City…”
