Comments & Further Information

A first UK edition paperback with a full 1 to 9 number sequence indicating a first printing.  In good condition for its age.  Reading crease to book spine and a faint, half-inch crease across the bottom right-hand corner of the front cover. Age tanning to pages.  There is some staining to the first two pages and (for a reason only known to the person who did it) there is a quarter-inch red dot at the top right-hand corner of the first page which gone through the page and also slightly affects page two. The book is tightly bound and square.

Book One of The Merchant Princes.

SYNOPSIS:  “Miriam Beckstein, a successful reporter for a hi-tech magazine in Boston, finds iron-clad evidence of a money-laundering scheme.  But when she takes it to her editor, she’s fired on the spot and gets a death threat from the criminals she has uncovered.  Before the day is over she’s received a locket, left by the mother she never knew – the mother who was murdered when she was an infant.

Within is a knot-work pattern, which has an hypnotic effect on Miriam.  Before she knows it, she’s transported herself to a parallel Earth, a world where knights on horseback chase their prey with automatic weapons, and where world’skipping assassins lurk just on the other side of reality ‘ a world where her true family run things.”
