Comments & Further Information

This is a first US paperback edition.  Heavy age tanning to pages making them very brown but still eminently readable.  The covers have had a hard life and are worn at the edges. Reading creases to spine.  Crease across top left hand corner of rear panel.  Some staining at top and bottom of rear panel which is also grubby.

Lewis Padgett is the pseudonym of Henry Kuttner and his wife, C L Moore when writing in collaboration.

SYNOPSIS:  “She made a living out of death.  Puzzling out the plots for her own murder stories was easy for Caroline.  but picking out the culprit was a lot tougher when HER OWN LIFE DEPENDED ON IT.

Living in a house decorated with African masks and cannibal forks… pursued by echoing footsteps on the dark city streets… fleeing from an ex-husband determined to have her back… presented with a skeleton the day after she stumbled across a corpse… helplessly, she watched murder stalk an ever-tightening spiral around her… desperately , she tried to name the murderer BEFORE HE COULD REACH HER.”
