A first UK edition hardback in good condition for its age. Considerable heavy tanning to pages making them very brown but still eminently readable. Bumped at head and tail of book spine and at the corners of the boards. The un-priced dust jacket is complete but is showing signs of wear at the extremities and there is some creasing to the front panel.
SYNOPSIS: “A terrifying novel of possession set in the world of computers. A strikingly original and eerie tale whose roots lie not in the folklore of a forgotten past but in the strictly contemporary world of electronics and microcomputers. Ten-year-old Jay Sorenson’s favourite possession is his Possum microcomputer, ever on call to help with the homework, challenge him with video games and provide companionship for an only child whose parents have become strangers to him and to each other. The bond between child and machine grows until the two are barely separable.”
