Comments & Further Information

This is a first edition hardback which lacks a dust jacket.  Bumped at head and tail of book spine which is also grubby and discoloured.  The edges of the boards are grubby and there is a red stain on the rear board and a small brown stain on the front board.  Age tanning to pages.  Previous owner’s sticker on front paste down (see photo).  The photos all make the book look brighter and cleaner than it actually is due to the use of a flash.

The book states that it is “produced in complete conformity with the authorised economy standards”.

SYNOPSIS:  “After years of scribbling away in relative obscurity, author Nigel Ebbfleet has become popular.  So why is killed by an explosion while chopping wood?  Superintendent Jimmy Waghorn, with a little help from Dr Priestley,  has a hard time tracking down the murderer with no apparent motive for the crime.”
